Meet The Board

Co-President
Declan Sheehy
“I serve on the Florida Jumpstart Board because I am passionate about people having the knowledge and information to make informed financial decisions that will better their own lives and the lives of others. We have a duty to educate our youth about the importance of financial literacy, without it people can never be free to pursue their full potential. The arc of the universe bends toward justice but only if we help bend it.”

Co-President
Juli Lewis
“With over 30 years in the credit union space, I’ve seen firsthand the impact of financial education-and I’ve learned from my own financial mistakes along the way. I’m not perfect with my finances (or with anything for that matter), but that’s exactly why I’m so passionate about serving on the Florida Jump$tart Board. Together, we’re building a network of resources and support that can truly move the needle on financial capability for people of all ages. It’s about making progress, not perfection, and empowering others to take steps toward a brighter financial future.”

Board Member
Aaron Standish
Aaron Standish’s journey into personal finance education began unexpectedly when financial literacy was added to his Economics course. With no formal preparation, he initially “faked it,” learning alongside his students and developing a deep passion for the subject. Drawing from resources like I Will Teach You to Be Rich by Ramit Sethi and the Bogleheads forum, he transformed his finances and earned a Master’s in Economics and Entrepreneurship.
After 13 years in the classroom, he became the K-12 Financial Literacy Program Planner for the School District of Palm Beach County, overseeing personal finance education for over 185,000 students annually. For more than a decade, he has trained teachers not only in best practices for teaching personal finance but also in improving their financial habits.
Now, as part of the Next Gen Personal Finance (NGPF) team, Aaron works to expand access to high-quality personal finance curriculum and professional development, striving to ensure all students are financially capable and all teachers feel confident teaching financial literacy.
